ABOUT ME
I’m Fr Gareth Jones, Parish Priest of St Mary’s, Ilford — a diverse, multicultural parish in the heart of East London.
I’m rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, where the daily rhythm of Morning and Evening Prayer and the offering of the Mass shape and sustain life. Much of what I write here flows out of that rhythm: the silence of prayer, the grit of parish life, the beauty of worship, and the mystery of God breaking into the ordinary.
Outside of ministry, I’m a husband and father. I share life with a Border Collie who thinks he runs the parish and four cats who know they run the vicarage.
This blog is simply a space to reflect, to pray in words, and to share something of the joy, struggle, and hope of Christian life in the thick of everyday reality.
